Thongchai off to steady start in Spain
Thailand’s Thongchai Jaidee hit a steady two-under 69 in the opening round of the Castello Masters in Castellion, Spain, yesterday.
Thongchai, the Thai star sunk birdies at the 9th and 14th holes and suffered no bogeys, playing even par for the remaining holes.
At press time he was in joint 21st place.
Thongchai, who is currently 66th in the European Tour’s Order of Merit, needs a good finish in this tournament to qualify for the prestigious Volvo Masters at Valderrama next week.
