Reid looks for fitness
TOR CHITTINAND
Thailand coach Peter Reid is pleased with his team’s performance in their 1-0 defeat against Saudi Arabia in a friendly in Riyadh on Saturday.
After returning to Bangkok ysterday, Reid said he was not happy with the result but satistifed with their display.
“I am pleased with their performance because we were the visiting team and it is often not easy to play away from home,” he said.
However, the former England international stressed that his men need to improve their fitness so that they can run the entire game.
The defence must be tighter and the attacking must be more variable, he said.
Thailand will next play Vietnam in Hanoi in the title decider of the T&T Cup on Sunday. The match was originally scheduled November 2 but was washed out by rain.
The Thais beat North Korea 1-0 in their first match in the three-team tournament.
