Prayad aims high
Thailand’s Prayad Marksaeng wants to top off the best 12 months of his career the same way he started with victory in the US$750,000 Volvo Masters of Asia in December.
The 42-year-old Prayad missed last week’s Japan Open after flying back to Thailand for tests on a suspected appendicitis and saw his chances of topping the Order of Merit standings take a blow.
Prayad was given the all clear to resume playing after doctors decided he did not need an operation on his appendix.
The world No 78 will play several more events in Japan along with the Singapore Open from Nov 13-16 but is already looking forward to the Volvo Masters of Asia.
“I will be back in Thailand for the Volvo Masters of Asia,” he said. “It was the biggest win of my career. Since then it is great what I have done. But the season is not over yet, I hope the best has yet to come.”
