CHINESE WHISPERS
This week we are in the midst of the Vegetarian Festival. A lot of Thai people of Chinese origin, and many Thai people at that, are embarking on a vegetarian diet, eliminating all animal-based ingredients from their meals.
This picture was taken at Wat Leng Nei Yee, or Wat Mangkorn Kamalawas, during the Vegetarian Festival last year. Each of these lanterns is inscribed with a Chinese symbol. Though I’m afraid I cannot decipher the meanings, I’m sure they must all be auspicious.Shutter speed 1/125 seconds, F-stop 2.8, ISO 800.
