PM to host merit making for nation
Prime Minister Mr. Somchai Wongsawat indicated the government has been prepared to host merit making for the country in early November because of prevailing political division in the nation.
He hoped that Buddhism’s teachings would help creating reconciliation in the Thai society.
Regarding academics’ proposal that four factions’ meeting should be held to sound out solutions for prevailing political deadlock, the premier insisted on Monday (October 27) he could discuss political issue with any party.
The proposed four parties included the government, opposition Democrat party, the anti-government People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) and the pro-government United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD).
