PDC calls on all sides to be compromising in resolving national conflict
The Political Development Council (PDC) has called on all sides to be cooperative and compromising in solving the nation’s problems.
Deputy Chairman of the PDC Son Roopsoong (สน รูปสูง) declared the stance of the council, calling on all sides to abstain from any action they may result in violence while also voicing support for peaceful means to resolve the current social issue. The PDC outlined their stance into 5 key points. The first point asked that all sides refrain from open conflicts. The second asked that demonstrators rally within the confines of the law and avoid confrontations. The third asked that the Government and its authorities be compromising in dealing with protestors and take responsibility for any clashes. The fourth invited representatives from all sides to join a discussion mediated by the PDC and the final point called on all citizens to protest violence through any means they wish. The PDC will today begin a campaign to end the national conflict in Chon Buri Province, where members of local communities march in the city, after which a joint announcement will be read at Burapha University. Similar activities will be later held in other provinces.
Mr. Son however said that last night’s televised speech from the Prime Minister will probably have limited effects as the People’s Alliance for Democracy has no trust in him. Nonetheless, the PDC Deputy Chairman said the PAD should reduce its contempt against the PM.
