OBITUARY
Former politician Samut dies at 77
Former deputy agriculture and cooperatives minister Samut Mongkolkiti died from a blood clot in his lung yesterday after receiving a back operation. He was 77. Samut served at the ministry in 1992 and was made deputy leader of the now-defunct Palang Dharma party in 1995.
He was an MP for the party and was later appointed deputy agriculture minister.
Samut served as a senator in 1997 and ran his own business before he died.
Funeral chanting rites for the late politician will be held from today until Oct 17 at Wat Thep Sirin.
