”I was so stressed after being blasted by them,” said Mr before giving a to the three victims to apologise. The police also ordered him to pay a 1,000-baht fine for assaulting the workers.

Rescuers need to be rescued

Two rescuers had to be rescued themselves after an exchange of gunfire between two rival rescue groups in Bangkok on Wednesday.

Rescuers Arthit Sartsara, 20, and Boriphat Noppong, 26, of the Siam Ruam Jai Foundation received serious gunshot wounds after scuffling with their counterparts from the Ruam Katanyu Foundation in Kannayao district.

The shooting took place outside the Nopparatana Rajathani Hospital after the two rescue workers brought in a student injured in a brawl. They told police that one of six Ruam Katanyu Foundation rescuers fired several bullets at them.

However, witnesses said the two Siam Ruam Jai Foundation rescuers approached the group in an intimidating manner, so Ruam Katanyu Foundation members retaliated with a gun.

Police said they are still investigating and gave no further details due to the conflicting evidence given by the two wounded rescuers and witnesses.
