Peter Woytuk sculpture collection on show in BKK
Famous American sculptor Peter Woytuk is exhibiting his collection of bronze sculptured ‘Bulls’ in Thailand and in Asia for the first time. Let’s have a look in this report from Thai News Agency.
The four big ‘Bulls’ sculptures of American artist Peter Woytuk have become a new playground for this young boy.
Peter has been living in Thailand for almost 15 years and spending an enjoyable life with his wife in their foundry in the kingdom. Because of his interest in natural forms, Peter uses his skills to create various sizes of animal sculptures in colourful themes. Sometimes he makes them smaller or larger than found in nature.
The American sculptor’s masterpieces appear only in groupings in a large landscape, allowing the audience to walk around and ponder relationships between animals and that between humans and nature.
The 50-year-old artist said when he was very young he was amazed seeing enormous reclining cattle at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. The creatures were alive and too large to see over them. Once he grew up, he took the reclining bull as a landscape and showed potential as a sculpturer. Not only the fairground bulls but also ravens and crows have been carved out of his childhood memories.
Peter’s collection expressing the harmony of all living creatures on Earth is on display at the Ardel Gallery of Modern Art in Bangkok until October 10.
