Apirak wins city election
Democrat party member Apirak Kosayodhin is re-elected as Bangkok governor, according to unofficial result released on midnight Sunday.
Bangkok city clerk Pongsak Semsan said Mr Apirak gets 991,018 votes, or 45.93%, followed by Prapas Chongsa-nguan who gets 543,488 votes or 25.19%.
Chuwit Kamolvisit ranks third with 340,616 votes or 15.79%. Kriangsak Charoenwongsak ranks No 4, with 260,051 votes or 12.05%, followed by Leena Jungjanja, who has 6,267 votes or 0.29%.
Out of the total of 4,086,604 eligible voters in the capital, 2,214,315 people, or 54.18%, cast their votes.
