HA NOI — The eighth plenary meeting of the Communist Party of Central Committee (CPVCC) ended on Saturday.

The Party leader stressed that exports needed to be boosted while imports should be controlled to narrow the trade deficit, while the 7th CPVCC resolution on agriculture, farmers and rural development needed to be carried out. In addition, policies to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty needed to be boosted.

He said greater State investment was needed to improve healthcare services, education and scientific and technological research and environmental protection.
