Viennese Ball in Bangkok
The Austrian Embassy in Thailand and the City of Vienna will host the “Viennese Ball in Bangkok” in celebration of the 140th anniversary of the Austrian-Thai relationship, at the InterContinental Hotel Bangkok on October 22.
Representatives of Thai debutantes.
The evening of friendship, art, music and entertainment will be highlighted by a beautiful performance of Thai debutantes, representing the Thai youth in Austrian-Thai cultural exchanges.
Twenty couples of the Thai debutantes, aged 15 to 25, will re-enact the glamour of Austria’s imperial days with their dances in the true European tradition, dating back to the 19th century, among the high society of Europe. All the belles and their partners, including Niks Anumanrajadhon, Akira Wongwan, Vittawat Chinabaramee and Jiraporn Angkhasekvilai, have been well trained by a prestigious dance school owner.
Another must-see will be a concert by the Ambassade Orchestra Vienna, the “young wilds” of the internationally-famed Vienna Symphony Orchestra, and celebrated singers Marcela Cerno and Herwig Pecoraro as well as ballet dancers from the State Opera of Vienna.
Guests may also enjoy waltzing the night away with music from local dance band, The Dream. In authentic tradition, Austrian delicacies and wines will be served at the Grand Ballroom dinner and in the Wiener Cafe’ set up close by.
Tickets, priced at 5,000 and 3,000 baht, are inclusive of dinner, dance, door prizes and gifts. Part of the proceeds will go to support the Chaipattana Foundation.
For reservations, call 02-254-6895 - 7 or email Bangkok-ob@bmeia.gv.at, or contact the InterContinental on 02-656-0360.
