Deputy PM receives US delegation
Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem received a delegation from the US Institute for Global Engagement (IGE), headed by its President, Doctor Chris Seiple, in Hanoi on Oct. 13.
The Deputy PM said he hoped that, after the fact-finding tour, the IGE delegation would have a better understanding of Vietnam’s policies regarding religion and the objective reality of religious activities in the host country.
Doctor Seiple expressed his positive impressions of the development of Vietnam.
During their visit to Vietnam, the IGE signed a detailed agreement regarding Article Six of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Vietnam-US association and the IGE on organising the necessary training in popularising legal documents relating to religion and belief.
The delegation will also visit several localities in the central and Central Highlands regions in order to study the possibilities of implementing a number of humanitarian projects.-Enditem
