Ministry seeks volunteers to promote sport at school

TAIPEI, Taiwan –– A total of 2,500 volunteers will be recruited from students at 40 colleges and universities nationwide to help promote sports on school campuses, the Ministry of Education said in a statement yesterday.
The aim of the campaign is to offer guidance and assistance to schools’ physical education programs and help schoolchildren develop the habit of exercising and appreciate the benefit and enjoyment of participating in sports, a statement issued by the ministry said.
Under the program, well-trained and qualified volunteers will be dispatched during the upcoming winter vacation to 103 elementary and junior high schools across the country, the ministry said.
