SINGAPORE: You might have seen Robert Redford on the big screen.
Now for the first time, the Hollywood actor will take to the stage in Singapore to narrate the story of Peter and the Wolf.
The Singapore Sun Festival is where Robert Redford is expected to perform.
The 10-day festival, featuring some 90 arts and lifestyle events, drew 30,000 people when it was first started in 2007 by IMG Artists.
Mindy Coppin, Vice President of IMG Artists, said: “We already run a Sun Festival in Katonah in Tuscany, and one in the Napa Valley in California. Our intention is to create a Sun Festival in every continent.”
Organisers hope the Singapore version this year will attract over 36,000 people.
After all, the festival has cost more than S$3 million.
Tickets to the concerts have been selling fast since they went on sale in August.
Shows with big names like Robert Redford are already sold out.
Organisers expect 90 percent of those attending to be Singaporeans. - CNA/de
