Perak Urged To Be Professional By Cooperating With Federal Government
IPOH, Oct 28 (Bernama) — The Perak government has been urged to adopt a professional approach by cooperating with the federal government in implementing development programmes for the people’s benefit.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said this was necessary to avoid problems in the programmes’ implementation.
“As the State Federal Action Council chairman for Perak, I have a liberal approach in disbursing the allocation by the federal government.
“I hope the state government will also adopt a similar approach by not differentiating the federal allocation from that by the state,” he said at an Aidlifitri function organised by the council here today.
Ahmad Zahid said a professional cooperation with the state government was important as it would not lead to segregation during implementation.
The council disburses about RM1.2 billion to Perak annually for development of which RM600-RM700 million was for management expenditure.
