Former manager died on Oct. 20 at the age of 83, according to the of Florida.

Lutz joined the as a in 1974 and became the first non- with managing experience in the following year.

Lutz, widely known for asking the club to change the color of the team’s cap to red to symbolize the team’s , transformed the struggling club into one able to win the .

Although Lutz left the club after only 15 in charge due to a dispute with , he is widely thought to have inspired the club, which was then led by , to win its first Central League in 1975.
