Date enters All-Japan tourney

Kimiko Date Krumm will make her first appearance in 16 years at the All-Japan Championships, the Japan Tennis Association announced Wednesday.
The 38-year-old Date Krumm, who returned to the sport this year after retiring in 1996, has entered the tournament, to be held Nov. 9-16 at Tokyo’s Ariake Tennis Forest Park, along with defending champion Aiko Nakamura.
Takao Suzuki, aiming for his second straight title and fourth overall, heads the men’s field. Teen phenom Kei Nishikori will not take part.
