Holocaust Survivors vs. Claims Conference
by IsraelNN staff
(IsraelNN.com) Representatives of Holocaust survivors held a news conference in Tel Aviv accusing the Holocaust Claims Conference of wasting money and failing to help the victims. Attorney Yoram Sheftel said 19,000 survivors, among them 11,000 who live in Israel, are still waiting for assistance.
The Claims Conference has not learned from a previous court ruling in survivors’ favor, Sheftel said. He called on the public to pressure the Claims Conference to start helping more survivors, and expressed hope that public pressure would make a second legal battle unnecessary.
