Quake hits Pekalongan

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale hit the Central Java city of Pekalongan before dawn on Sunday.

The epicenter of the quake which struck at 02.57 a.m. was in the sea 556 km northeast of Pekalongan in a depth of 556 km, the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency (BMG) said on Sunday.

There was no immediate report of casualty nor material damage.
