Villagers chase away molester Delhi cops

KOLKATA: Six members of Delhi Police’s special crime branch and two Baduria police station constables, on the lookout for a wanted criminal, were chased out of Khaspur villa-ge in North 24-Parganas on Thursday night.

Police fired six rounds in the air to avoid being lynched and sought shelter in the police station. Led by panchayat pradhan Rabiul Haq, the villagers later filed an FIR against the eight police personnel, accusing them of molesting the wanted man’s wife.
