MIPR holds Raya dinner for staff

IN KEEPING up with the ongoing spirit of Hari Raya, the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources (MIPR) last night held a dinner at the Rizqun International Hotel for the ministry’s officers and staff.
Present as the guest of honour was the Minister of Industry and Primary Resources Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Utama Dato Seri Setia Hj Yahya Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Hj Bakar.
The event began with the recitation of the Surah al-Fatihah followed by the recitation of Al-Quran verses by Ak Mohd Adibul Amin, champion of the National Level Al-Quran Recital Competition 2008 in the Qari category.
Following this was a welcoming speech by the event’s chairperson Pg Sharifuddin Pg Hj Matali, director of the Brunei Industrial Development Authority.
The guest of honour was also welcomed on stage to deliver his speech where he highlighted issues concerning Brunei’s raw materials. He said natural resources, manpower, finance and progressive thinking are the four ingredients needed to make the nation’s primary resources well-established.
Tausyeh (the art of singing songs featuring words of praise and prayer from the Al-Quran) was performed by the group, An Nidaa.
The event also included a presentation of a token of appreciation to the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Pehin Orang Kaya Setia Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Ahmad Hj Jumat and concluded with a doa selamat.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Primary Resources Dato Paduka Hj Hamdillah Hj Abdul Wahab was also present at the dinner. (NJA1) The Brunei Times
