HA NOI — Esteemed choristers, the Australian Girls Choir, are making a pit-stop in Ha Noi as part of their world tour next week.
The choir, made up of 53 senior members, will take the stage at the Red Scarf Theatre in the Children’s Palace in the capital on Thursday.
The choristers’ repertoire includes a diverse mix of tunes, including well-known Australian and Aboriginal songs, Broadway classics, international music and upbeat gospel numbers.
The one-night show is part of the choir’s global tour, which includes performances in high profile public events in Dublin, Dundalk, Edinburgh, Glasgow and London. Each performance is organised in co-ordination with local choirs and school groups.
In Ha Noi, the choir will be welcomed by the United Nations’ International School and hosted by the Australian Embassy. Workshops will also be held to mark the occasion.
During their stay in the capital, the choristers will be treated to a sightseeing tour of the city’s Old Quarter, catch a show at the Water Puppet Theatre and take a trip to Ha Long Bay.
Set up in 1984, the choir has been amassing a reputation for top vocal talent and stunning choreography. It is now regarded as the finest of its kind in the country and has grown into a national organisation of 3,500 choristers from Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.
